Held annually in Mount Panorama, Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 is a premier championship event on the Australian Supercars circuit. Supercheap Auto took over the naming rights as a major sponsor of the event in 2005 and has maintained its key sponsorship for the past 11 years. The event continues to grow with Supercheap Autos event pop ups innovating each year to deliver event based stores that are forward in design and provide maximum exposure to one of their key target markets.
Each year the Supercheap presence on the Bathurst site grows. In their biggest retail showing to date, the team was looking to deliver environments that could be utilised for retail purposes, stage events and encourage spectator involvement in competitions. As leaders in the digital signage space, Super Retail Group was looking to integrate diverse digital options to make their Bathurst 1000 stores the most lively and engaging to date.
CV Media & Signage, in partnership with CV Signage Solutions and Midwich, delivered a comprehensive internal and external digital display to complement Supercheaps advertising and engagement objectives. Featuring live camera feeds from the event action, interviews and updates, the 9 screen video wall was the major digital piece with Samsung’s UC series 46E screens. Utilising a chief mount, the video wall hung from only two points of the stage truss and delivered great vision, allowing audiences to never miss a minute. Utilising an Altona HDMI DA solution to direct content to the video wall, the switch between content feeds was made seamless. Two 75” Samsung displays were also integrated internally to deliver local content and race commentary, with six 65” screens supplied for commercial partners to deliver in-store advertisements.
The internal digital solutions were partnered with external LED and LCD screens, maximising the delivery of retail promotions and drawing people from the crowds and into the stores. The layered efforts of the technology utilised provided the stores with a real wow factor, exceeding the expectations of a temporary site.
Supercheap Autos flagship pop up stores went above and beyond a temporary retail environment and provided the Bathurst 1000 enthusiasts with a full brand centred experience. The scale of the digital integration enabled an elevated experience for the fans and sponsors and their interactions with Supercheap brand. The technologies utilised for the project allowed for ease through the set up and pack down of the digital hardware and the management of content across the four-day event.
